Homecoming Clash ends with a 19 point win for NKU

The Norse pulled the curtains on homecoming week with a victory over the Detroit Mercy Titans at the BB&T Arena Saturday night in front of a crowd of 6,231, including 1,173 students.  The 17-7 homecoming-Norse came out victorious with their fourth straight win with a final score of 84-65 over the 6-18 Titans. NKU remains second in conference trailing Wright State after a 9-1 run in their last 10 games.
Dantez Walton (32) shoots a three point shot during the game against Oakland. Walton shot 9-of-19 on the game and had 23 points.

NKU tames Oakland Grizzlies 73-70

The Northern Kentucky Men’s basketball team tamed the Oakland Grizzlies Thursday night. The Black and Gold won by a score of 73-70. The win was the third in a row for the Norse as they improved to 17-7 overall and 9-3 in conference play.

Friday nights match up at Nutter Center ended in the Wright State Raiders favor with a whopping 32 point win. NKU now falls to 14-7 on the season and 6-3 in the conference. Wright State advances to 18-4 overall and 8-1 in the Horizon League, only falling to UIC 76-72.

The Northern Kentucky men’s basketball team captured their second win in three days Saturday night against the Cleveland State Vikings. The win marks five straight conference wins for the Black and Gold.

The Northern Kentucky men’s basketball team won its Horizon League conference opener Saturday afternoon against the Milwaukee Panthers 74-64 at BB&T Arena. Senior guard Tyler Sharpe led the Norse with 31 points, including six 3-pointers. This game was Sharpe’s third consecutive 30 point performance.

The in-state battle Sunday night ended in NKU’s favor with a 76-57 win. The Norse are now 7-3 on the season. Senior forward Dantez Walton led with 18 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore guard Trevon Faulkner also had 18 points and led in assists with seven.

NKU men’s basketball team win at home against Midway University Monday night 86-56. Graduate wing Karl Harris led the night with 21 points, 10 rebounds and two assists.
