The Northern Kentucky University basketball teams recently acquired some new recruits to help with their programs next season. The NKU women's basketball program announced the signing of 5'11" forward Sharell Snardon, who is a senior at Louisville Male High School.

Norse pull even in homestand

The Northern Kentucky University baseball team played another important homestand last week. NKU tried to take advantage of the home turf. They lost two nailbiters to the University of Indianapolis by one run each but won two out of three games against the University of Southern Indiana.

Cottrell named National Player of the Year

Northern Kentucky University senior Michelle Cottrell has done many incredible things on the basketball court and that has earned her quite a number of accolades during her four years with the Norse program. It would only make sense then that she ended her astounding career being named the 2002 NCAA Division II Bulletin National Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Men’s tennis improves record

The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team is sporting a 7-7 overall record after its 6-3 victory over the University of Indianapolis Tuesday, April 2. The Norse also improved to 4-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. NKU won five of its six matches in singles play.

Baseball team is back on track after three wins

The Northern Kentucky University baseball team struggled defensively against two non-conference opponents last week but got back on track with three wins over the University of Missouri-St. Louis at the Bill Aker Baseball Complex in Highland Heights.

Softball starts season 3-1

The Northern Kentucky University softball team is off to a great start so far this season. After playing two doubleheaders last week, the Norse are sporting a 3-1 overall record, including a perfect 2-0 record on their home turf. "We're doing very well. We're coming together," NKU senior Krista Eldridge said.

Basketball program leaves behind a season of records

The Northern Kentucky University basketball programs have witnessed two of its athletes break all-time school scoring records this season. Senior forward Michelle Cottrell broke the NKU women's record back in December. Now the Norse can add senior guard Craig Sanders name to that prestigious list.

Norse finish up 19-7

The Northern Kentucky University men's basketball team played hard core defense late in the game and held off Quincy (Ill.) University 79-75 Saturday at Regents Hall. The Norse finished the regular season with a 19-7 record, 15-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
