Bengals take half a season to get 1st win

CINCINNATI (AP) - On their ninth try, the Cincinnati Bengals finally got it right. They scored early. They broke up a pass that could have tied the game in the closing minutes. They pounded their chests, raised their arms and - in one case - gave a smooch.

Kentuckians pick McCain in presidential race

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - John McCain has won Kentucky and collected eight electoral votes in a state that has picked the overall winner in presidential races dating back to 1964. The call was based on an analysis of voter interviews, conducted for The Associated Press by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International.

Black, youth among those new to polls this year

WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama was the overwhelming choice of the one in 10 voters who went to the polls for their first time Tuesday - a racially diverse group of mostly twentysomethings, half of whom call themselves Democrats. One in five of the new voters was black, almost twice the proportion of blacks among voters overall.

Tailgating allowed for the UofL game

Attendees of the season-opening basketball games against the University of Louisville will be able to tailgate, including drinking alcohol, the dean of students announced at the Student Government Association's Nov. 3 meeting. Dean of Students Jeff Waple told the Senate that the policy is still not approved as official policy, though he had been permitted to lay out the tailgating parameters, which includes permitting individuals to drink in Lots O and J, the two closest to the Bank of Kentucky Center.

Walk identifies safety concerns

Student Government Association wants more lighting, more lighting and more call boxes. SGA met with administrators Nov. 3 for the annual Campus Safety Walk. The purpose of the walk was to find any safety concerns students may have, whether they may be more lighting, better sidewalks or directing traffic during Bank of Kentucky Center events.

It took almost 87 minutes, but Northern Kentucky University Men's Soccer player Steven Beattie notched a goal, to give the Norse a 1-0 win Nov. 2 at the Town ' Country Sports Complex in Wilder.

Women’s soccer escapes Knights

The game looked to be sealed up for the Northern Kentucky University Women's Soccer team, but two late goals by Bellarmine made the game close, as the Norse won 3-2 Nov. 2 at the Town ' Country Sports Complex in Wilder. The Norse will face the No. 6 seeded Greyhounds in the semi-finals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament at 12 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Say queer, not homosexual
