The Northern Kentucky University Women’s Soccer team started the 2008 season with a bang, defeating Concord University 3-2, Aug. 29 in Athens, W. Va.

The Lady Norse (1-0) found themselves in a 2-0 deficit going into the second half, when in the 74th minute, freshman midfielder Samantha Sutkamp notched the game-winning goal.

Concord (0-1) was outshot by the Lady Norse 28-7 on the night and NKU senior goalkeeper Angela Healy saved two shots to notch her first career win.

NKU will now face Davis ‘ Elkins Aug. 31 in Athens, W. Va. Kickoff is 10 a.m.
