TOLEDO, Ohio — After a close first half, Toledo pulled away Wednesday for a 90-73 win over Northern Kentucky in the Norse’s final non-league game of the season.

NKU rallied late in the first half to pull within one, 45-44, at the intermission.

In the second half, Toledo opened with a 17-4 run. NKU was unable to rally in the second half.

Tyler White led NKU with 20 points. Lavone Holland II and Drew McDonald each scored a career-high 18 points. 

Three statistical columns tell the story of Wednesday’s game. Toledo made 10 of 23 from three-point range, compared to just 5 of 18 for the Norse.

In addition, Toledo outrebounded NKU 42-26, including 14-7 on the offensive glass. Toledo also had 20 assists on 30 field goals, compared to just 9 assists on 27 field goals for the Norse.

Nathan Boothe led Toledo with 24 points. Five different Rockets scored in double figures. Toledo also made all 20 free throw attempts.

NKU will open 2016 with its first Horizon League game. The Norse will play at Green Bay 2 p.m. Saturday. The game will be televised by ESPN3.
