Women’s basketball announces first Horizon League slate

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Northern Kentucky athletics announced last week the first-ever Horizon League schedule for the women’s basketball team.

The Northern Kentucky women’s basketball team will play its first Horizon League game 7 p.m. December 30 at BB&T Arena against Valparaiso.

In addition the university announced game times for home contests.

A three-game road trip highlights early January with trips to Wright State, Oakland and Detroit. The Norse then return home to face defending Horizon League champion Green Bay January 21.

Green Bay will host the Horizon League Championship at the Kress Events Center March 10-13.

The university stated in a release on nkunorse.com that game times are subject to change due to potential television broadcasts.

This is the final season of a four-year transition to Division I for the Norse. NKU will be eligible for the NCAA women’s basketball tournament starting at the end of the 2016-2017 season.
