The Fine Arts Center at Northern Kentucky University is hosting the Senior Exhibition from November 12-20, 2009. The exhibit will feature original art work of seven senior, BFA candidates, and is a requirement for all students majoring in the various visual art disciplines.

Although the exhibit is a method to showcase the university’s artistic talent, it also serves as a means for the seniors to be professionally critiqued by a committee of art faculty members. A second group of senior exhibitions will open in December. The exhibit is free and open to the public and is located in the Main Gallery, on the 3rd floor of the Fine Arts Center at Northern Kentucky University. The Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Dates and Times of Exhibition:
Artist Reception November 12, 5 ‘- 8 p.m.
The reception is free and open to the public.

Seniors exhibiting include:

Amanda Verrette: Verrette is a graphic design major, originally from Lexington, Kentucky. Her art being displayed will include various typeface designs.

Rebecca Wilson: Wilson is a graphic design major, originally from Milan, Indiana. Her art will focus around how much one can depend on social networking sites to connect with friends and family. The exhibition will be comprised of data driven informational posters and how this data is processed and used by others.

Keith Richter: Richter is a printmaking major, originally from Alexandria, Kentucky. He will be exhibiting a series of intaglio prints depicting realist images of various types of animals.

Jeremy Ross: Ross is a graphic design major, originally from Covington, Kentucky. He will be exhibiting a series of graffiti based images.

Natalie Brown: Brown is a graphic design major, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. She will be exhibiting a re-branding of the public library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. The exhibition will include posters and banners describing the project.

John Overwine: Overwine is a graphic design major, originally from Covington, Kentucky. He will be exhibiting a humorous approach to package design that includes creating a portfolio that presents him packaged as an action figure.

Kyle McGill: McGill is a ceramics major, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. He will be exhibiting a series of small and large ceramic slab sculptures with influences from math, science and philosophy.’
