Wednesday, Nov.12
Women’s basketball lost to Ball State on the road, 95-64. Mya Meredith scored a season-high for any Norse player, dropping 18 points on 7-12 shooting. Abby Wolterman had eight points and six rebounds. Kylee Hunt recorded a season-high eight points. The main issue for NKU was turnovers; they had 21 turnovers on the night.
Men’s basketball lost against East Tennessee State 75-63. Dan Gherezgher led the Norse with 24 points, going 8-19 from the field with five made threes. Donovan Oday was also in double figures, as he went for 14 points on 5-10 shooting with a team-high four assists and three steals. Kael Robinson finished with seven points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists.
Friday, Nov. 14
Men’s and women’s track and field competed in the NCAA Southeast Regional, wrapping up the 2025 season. The men’s side placed 19th and the women’s side placed 32nd. Notable men: Colton O’Hara’s run of 31:03.6 marked a new personal best for the senior, as he finished in 61st place. O’Hara marked just one of two Norse to finish inside the top 100. O’Hara improved his time by over a minute from last year, as he ran a 32:04.9 in 2024’s regional. Natnael Weldemichael followed up O’Hara with a time of 31.44.6, a 91st-place finish. Jacob Line was the third Norse to finish, as he ran a 32:32.1 and finished in 129th. Stetson Childress finished in 149th, running a 33:02.1. Jacob Messer notched a 207th-place finish with a time of 34:33.1. Notable women: Maggie Foust led all Norse with a 144th-place finish, running a 22:15.4 in the 6K race. Grace Biddle was the second NKU runner to cross the line, finishing in 22:33.5. Brittany Arnold ran a 22:46.8, good for a 178th-place finish and third among Northern Kentucky competitors. Carlie Condit (230th, 23:57.1) and Macie Radcliffe (231st, 23:57.9) were NKU’s fourth and fifth finishers, respectively.
Women’s volleyball beat IU-Indy 3-1. NKU outside hitter Allison Risley led the Norse in kills with 16 on 50 total attacks, posting just a pair of attack errors. She also had four total blocks, two aces and five digs. Sydney Bray was the only other Norse to post double-digit kills, going for ten. She also had 14 digs and two blocks. Lucy Cluxton led the Norse in digs with 15, also posting an ace and four assists. Abby Pickard beat out IU Indy’s Grace Purichia in a battle of the league’s top two setters, posting a match-high 41 assists. The freshman also racked up 13 digs and a pair of blocks. Kendall Hopewell went for nine kills and four blocks, while Ivey Stocks had seven kills and four blocks. Ava Hoying went for six kills, two aces and six digs.
Saturday, Nov. 15
Women’s volleyball won their 17th conference game against IU-Indy, 3-2. Allison Risley tallied 17 kills, a match-high. She also had 11 digs in the match, resulting in her 11th double-double of the season. Sydney Bray had 12 kills on 31 attempts, also recording 16 digs and three blocks. It marked her 12th double-double of the season and her fourth consecutive. Ivey Stocks had eight kills and five blocks. Ava Hoying had nine kills, five digs and an ace. Abby Pickard had 42 assists, ten digs and a block. Lucy Cluxton tallied 15 digs and an ace in the match. NKU’s 17 conference wins in a single season are the second-most in program history, trailing only a 1995 season in which the Norse went 19-1 in the GLVC. The Norse’s 21 total wins are tied for the third-most that head coach Liz Hart has had during her 16-year tenure and the most since the Norse went 21-10 in 2018.
Sunday, Nov. 16
Men’s basketball won against NAIA opponent University of the Cumberlands, 101-73. Donovan Oday led the Norse in scoring with 19 points on 7-8 shooting, five rebounds, three steals and two assists. Dan Gherezgher had 18 points on 8-16 shooting, knocking down a pair of threes with three assists and two rebounds. LJ Wells bounced back with a 15-point, eight-rebound, seven-steal performance. His seven steals marked the most by any Norse in a single game since Sam Vinson had eight against Miami-Hamilton on December 18, 2022. Ethan Elliott had 14 points and five assists and Kael Robinson had 12 points and five rebounds.
Women’s basketball falls to 0-4 with the 73-56 loss against Butler. Freshman guard Karina Bystry led the Norse with 15 points as she went 7-9 from the free throw line. Jamaya Thomas and Noelle Hubert each had nine points off the bench. All of Hubert’s came in the fourth quarter. Mia Jordan led NKU in rebounds with six. NKU shot 33.3% from the field, 21.1% from three, and 63.6% from the free throw line. The squad really struggled from deep early, as the Norse didn’t make a three until there was 1:21 remaining in the third quarter. Northern Kentucky scored just eight first-quarter points and ten in the second.
