Monday, Oct. 20
Men’s basketball played an exhibition match against Ashland, winning 83-72.
Tuesday, Oct. 21
Men’s golf competed in the Xavier Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, placing 10. For NKU was Isaac Moody’s remarkable second round, in which he went even on the 70-par course. An eagle on the first hole marked his second of the day, as he also posted one on hole seven in round one. However, Moody struggled in round three, posting a 78, including a four-over-par hole 11. Overall, Moody finished tied for 26th with a +13 at the invitational. Next up for the Norse was Micah Bertram, who finished +15 at the tournament with five birdies, including three in round two. Overall, Bertram posted a score of 75-73-77 and finished tied for 35th. Caleb Eaglin (T-46, +17), Zack Beard (T-56, +21), and Brady Holmes (T-68, +28) rounded out the group of scoring players for NKU. Eaglin posted 74’s in rounds one and three, but struggled in round two with a 79.
Women’s golf competed in the Powercat Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, placing 12. Ryliann Bednar led the way for NKU with a +27 tournament, finishing tied for 43rd. Her best round came in the second, as she shot a 77 on the 72-par course, which was the best single round by any Norse golfer. Eva Maley followed up Bednar with a +28 three-round score, scoring consistently across her three rounds with scores of 81-82-81. Shortly following Maley was Kenna Jenkinson, who finished tied for 49th with a +29 tournament. Jenkinson scored a 79 in the second round, her best at the invitational.
Men’s soccer faced off against Duquesne, losing 1-0. The Dukes scored the game-winner in the 53rd minute, after a scoreless first half. NKU was outshot 10-6 in the match, but drew even in the shot on goal battle with three apiece. NKU keeper Romeo Paparesta made two saves in the first half without allowing a goal, before being subbed off for Landon Barth. Duquesne won the corner kick battle 4-3.
Friday, Oct. 24
Men’s and women’s swim took on Xavier in their first-ever home meet. Both teams lost overall, but many individuals earned personal bests and program records.

Women’s volleyball went up against Purdue Fort Wayne, winning 3-0. Northern Kentucky racked up ten aces in the three-set match, which marked the second-highest total by any Horizon League team in a single match during conference play. Ava Hoying and Allison Risley each had three, while Kendall Hopewell had a pair. Four different Norse tallied eight or more kills, as Risley, Hopewell and Sydney Bray each had nine, while Ivey Stocks had eight. Hopewell was efficient on the attack, going nine for ten on attacks with no errors.
Saturday, Oct. 25
Women’s Triathlon competed in the East Regional, placing 12. The Norse raced four student athletes, marking the most athletes raced at a regional championship in its two-year history as a program. Alisha Detmer led the Norse with a 72nd overall place and time of 1:15:59. Detmer completed the 750m lake swim in 12:34, the 20km bike in 41:06 and the 5km run in 19:23. Maddux Bigam finished 2nd for the Norse in 81st overall in a time of 1:19:11. Bigam completed the swim in 14:19, the bike in 40:41, and the run in 21:31. Charlotte Cunningham finished in 93rd overall with a time of 1:23:52. Cunningham finished the swim in 12:23, the bike in 44:30, and the run in 24:13. Bailey Reeves rounded out the scoring for the Norse finishing in 105th overall place with a time of 1:29:00. Reeves finished the swim in 13:58, the bike in 44:43, and the run in 27:21.
Women’s soccer beat Youngstown State 3-2. LillyYordy reached a major career milestone, her 50th career point with the Norse.
Women’s volleyball went up against Purdue Fort Wayne, winning 3-0. NKU beat Purdue Fort Wayne in every major statistical category, including kills, 51-35, hitting percentage, .407-.189, digs, 5-46 and blocks, 7-3. Allison Risley posted a double-double with 16 kills, 12 digs, four aces and a .517 hitting percentage. Ava Hoying racked up double-digit kills on the night, going 13 for 24 on attacks with no errors. Sydney Bray totaled nine kills, nine digs and four blocks. Abby Pickard put up 40 assists, averaging over 13 per set. Ivey Stocks (six kills, four blocks) and Kendall Hopewell (six kills, three blocks) put up well-rounded performances. Libero Lucy Cluxton had ten digs and six assists on the night.
Men’s soccer lost to Oakland 2-0. NKU outshot the Golden Grizzlies, 13-6, and tied in the shot on goal battle, three-all. Norse keeper Alex Kron made one save. The Norse also won the corner kick battle, six-five. Bennett Gerak led NKU in shots on goal with two, while Carlos Merce led the team in total shots with three.
