Northern Kentucky earned their fifth consecutive win, with a sweep over Purdue Fort Wayne as they stay atop of the Horizon League standings.
The Norse dominated the Mastodons throughout the game, winning each set comfortably, by 25-13, 25-14 and 25-16.
Northern Kentucky finished with a strong .381 hitting percentage compared to Purdue Fort Wayne’s .111. The Norse were extremely impressive in set 2, hitting .448 while holding the Mastodons to .083.
Northern Kentucky claimed the advantage in kills over Purdue Fort Wayne with 40. Sydney Bray, Kendall Hopewell and Allison Risley all led with nine apiece.
The Norse recorded 10 aces throughout the match, which is the second-highest total by any Horizon League team in a single match while holding the Mastodons to just one. Ava Hoying and Risley both led NKU with three.
On defense, Abby Pickard led the Norse with 12 digs as NKU outpaced the Mastodons 29-25. Ivey Stocks, Hopewell and Pickard each contributed two blocks.
The Norse climb to 13-8 overall, 9-1 in Horizon League play.
The Norse will face the Mastodones again Saturday Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. at Regents Hall.
