Thursday, May 22
Baseball played against Milwaukee in the Horizon League Tournament, losing 8-6. Aaron Boster got the start for the Norse and took the loss after allowing six runs on six hits and four walks in just 3.1 innings. Logan Wilson (4.1 innings) and Aaron Massie (1.1 innings) gave the Norse a chance on the defensive end, allowing just a pair of runs, one each, with two strikeouts apiece. To the bats: Gabe Miranda provided the lone two-hit day for the Norse, finishing 2-4 with a three-run home run. Marcus Harrison hit a home run as part of a 1-3 day. Tyler Shaneyfelt stole a base and scored twice, finishing 1-4 over the plate. Brennan Rowe finished 1-3 with a pair of runs scored.
Friday, May 23
Baseball forced a second elimination game after picking up a 10-8 win against Oakland in the Horizon League Tournament. Conner Linn got the start, pitching 2.1 innings and allowing a pair of runs. Kaden Echeman took over for Linn, throwing 4.1 innings and striking out seven. Ryan Pehrson got the win after getting the final out of the seventh. Evan Fry got the save with a scoreless ninth. To the offense: Jake Paulick and Josh Williams each provided a pair of hits and a pair of RBI. NKU drew nine walks in the win, as Tyler Shaneyfelt (two) , Marcus Harrison (three) and Gabe Miranda (two) each drew multiple walks and scored for the Norse.
Baseball season ended in heartbreaking fashion as they lost to the eventual Horizon League Champions, Wright State, 18-1. Noah Sackenheim got the start for the Norse and took the loss. He gave up eight runs on eight hits. Multiple other pitchers came into the game, but any pitchers Wright State faced were a field day as they hit 16 balls for 18 scored runs. To the bats: Brennan Rowe provided the lone hit for the Norse with a solo home run. Wright State’s pitcher, Garrett Peters, was dominant, over nine innings, he gave up one hit and struck out 11 batters.

Women’s and men’s track and field will compete in the NCAA Division one Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Jacksonville, Fla. They will be playing in the first round in the East Region.
