NKU forward Jessica Frey will look to end the Norse scoring drought when they face EKU tonight

The NKU women’s soccer team travels to Richmond, KY to face the Eastern Kentucky Colonels at 7 p.m. tonight.

The Norse will be looking for their first win of the 2016 season, after starting the season 0-2. NKU has only scored one goal in those two games and have given up four. Macy Hamblin has been the lone goal scorer, after she headed in a shot against Appalachian State in the 34th minute.  The Norse haven’t scored since.

Sophomore goalkeeper Emily Lohmann has made 16 saves through the first two starts of her collegiate career, allowing four goals so far. Three of those goals came against Appalachian State and two of those goals were off rebounds.

The Colonels are also 0-2 to starts the season after losing to Ball State and Xavier. They have struggled to find the back of the net as well, only scoring one goal and giving up five. Junior Emmi Carroll lead the team in goals last year with three and collected a total of seven points as well.

This will be the first regular season meeting between the two teams.
