DETROIT, Michigan — The NKU men’s basketball team picked up its third win in its last four games Friday with a 91-83 victory against Detroit.

NKU (8-12 overall, 4-5 in Horizon League) trailed at the half by one, and trailed by five, 55-50, with 14:43 remaining.

The Norse surged ahead thanks to a three by Deontae Cole and a three-point play by Brennan Gillis. The lead went back and forth over the next nine minutes of play.

Detroit (9-11, 3-6) tried to hang around. A Jaleel Hogan jumper with 1:26 remaining pulled the Titans within four, 86-82.

Drew McDonald closed the game at the free throw line by knocking down five in the final 1:26. On the night, he made 13 of 14 from the line.
