Men’s soccer season ends in quarterfinals to Wright State

Alwin Komolong had one shot Monday in NKU’s 2-0 season-ending loss to Wright State.

The men’s soccer season ended Monday with a 2-0 upset loss to Wright State at NKU Soccer Stadium in the Horizon League quarterfinals.

NKU finished with an 8-7-4 record.

Wright State scored in the 35th minute what proved to be the deciding goal. Zach Zwiesler scored to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead.

The Raiders got the insurance goal they needed in the 54th minute when AJ Paterson scored his fourth of the season. Jackson Dietrich picked up the assist.

The Norse were outshot 16-8, including 5-0 in shots on goal. Diego Martinez had two shots, while Bastian Beckers, Johannes Jansen, Alwin Komolong and Kobie Qualah each had one.

AJ Fleak was credited with two saves while Toby Frohlich came on in the 59th minute and had one save. The two teammates who committed to Northern Kentucky on the same day both play in their final Norse contest.
