The NKU women’s soccer team played Milwaukee to a 0-0 draw Saturday night in Milwaukee. The point earned guaranteed the Norse a spot in the Horizon League tournament.

The draw also guaranteed Milwaukee the top seed for the tournament.

NKU is now 9-5-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the Horizon League. Milwaukee is 10-3-3, 7-0-1.

Brooke Schocker recorded two saves to pick up the shutout. Paige Lincicum also had a clean sheet for Milwaukee, making six saves.

NKU outshot the hosts 13-11, including 6-2 in shots on goal. Jessica Frey led NKU with four shots. Maria Silbersack added three shots, including two on goal.

The Norse are now third in the table, one point behind Oakland. The top four teams will host quarterfinal round matches. NKU finishes its regular season 7 p.m. Friday against Green Bay. The match will be broadcast on ESPN3.

Men’s soccer: Qualah scores twice to power Norse past Green Bay

Kobie Qualah scored twice, including 14 seconds into overtime Saturday as the men’s soccer team won on senior day, 2-1 over Green Bay.

Qualah got the scoring started for the Norse (8-4-3 overall, 4-1-3 Horizon) in the 14th minute. Jacob Cunningham and Alwin Komolong each had assists.

Green Bay would equalize in the 53rd minute on a goal by William Nordenstrom. It would remain that way until the 91st minute, when Qualah sent the Norse fans home happy with the golden goal. Johannes Jansen had the assist.

Both teams had 11 shots and four shots on goal. AJ Fleak made three saves to pick up the victory.

NKU returns to action 7 p.m. Wednesday for a non-league match with IUPUI.
