Women’s tennis opens fall season with 7-0 win

NKU junior Klara Skopac was a 6-0, 6-0 winner in her debut for the Norse women’s tennis team Wednesday against Thomas More. NKU defeated Thomas More 7-0 at the Joyce E. Yeager Tennis Complex.

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS — In the first match of the fall season, the women’s tennis team Wednesday had no trouble dispatching Thomas More, winning 7-0 at the Joyce E. Yeager Tennis Complex.

NKU (1-0) dropped just five games in six singles matches and just three games in three doubles matches. They swept the doubles to secure the doubles point, then swept the six singles matches.

Junior Klara Skopac, playing her first match for NKU since transferring from Nicholls State, cruised to a win a first singles over Alyssa DeFiglio 6-0, 6-0. She teamed with Sydney Power to win at first doubles as well, 6-2.

NKU will play Friday and Saturday in the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational in Mason, Ohio.
