Men’s Basketball
The men’s basketball team defeated #22 Indianapolis 77-61 on Feb. 9. Junior guard Ethan Faulkner led the way with 15 points and senior guard Tony Rack added 14 points in the win. On Feb. 11, the Norse defeated Saint Joseph’s 85-72. Faulkner led the way again, this time with 19 points. Rack and sophomore guard Chad Jackson both chipped in 15 points.

Women’s Basketball
The women’s basketball team also won both of its games. On Feb. 9, the Norse defeated Indianapolis 71-68. Senior guard Casse Mogan scored 33 points and junior center Ellen Holton added 20 points. Mogan scored 29 points in a 69-55 victory against Saint Joseph’s on Feb. 11. Mogan was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for her performances.

Tennis
The men’s tennis team defeated Division I Dayton on Feb. 10, 4-3. The men lost all the doubles matches, but with Division I rules, it only cost the Norse a point. They came back in the singles matches to take four of the six matches, which included winning the top four seed matches. The women’s team lost to Eastern Kentucky University on the same day by a 7-0 score.

Track and Field
The track teams competed in the DePauw Invitational in Greencastle, Ind., while two runners competed in the Grand Valley State Big Meet in Allendale, Mich. At DePauw, freshman Kristina Hinch finished seventh in the shot put and freshman Lindsay Mumley finished fourth in the 3,000m run. For the men, junior Kevin Bonfield placed fourth in the one mile run. In the 3,000m run, freshman Matt Kincaid and junior Ricky Harm earned seventh and eighth place, respectively. At the GVSU Big Meet, juniors Brendan Chwalek (15:17.56) and Kayla Justice (18:59.15) set personal records in the 5,000m run. Chwalek finished 60th out of 176 runners, while Justice placed 58th out of 100 runners.
