Northern Kentucky University junior pitcher April Ehlers was honored as the Great Lakes Valley Conference softball pitcher of the week on Monday, according to the official Web site of NKU athletics.

Ehlers pitched in four of the six games for the Norse this weekend, leaving with a 2-2 record. Over 26 innings, Ehlers struck out 29 batters with only 9 walks.

The Norse went 2-4 on the weekend, winning games against Columbus State and West Georgia, while dropping games to No. 20 Wayne St., No. 2 North Georgia, Barry and North Alabama.

The Norse will return to action on March 5 and 6 as the open conference play at home with double headers against Rockhearst and Quincy.
