PERIOD POVERTY
The first is for female students on the subject of period poverty, the inability to afford feminine hygiene supplies. According to the Alliance on Period Supplies, 1 in 3 low-income women reports missing work, school, or similar commitments due to lack of access to period supplies.
BRAIN ROT
Our second survey asks questions about the very real phenomenon of brain rot, which, according to the journal Brain Sciences, is the cognitive decline and mental exhaustion experienced by individuals, particularly adolescents and young adults, due to excessive consumption of online materials, especially on social media.
COMMUTER ENGAGEMENT
NKU is taking steps to get commuter students more engaged in campus activities. According to HonorSociety.org, comparaed to students living on campus, commuters face more stress, having to navigate issues such as transportation logistics, time management, and a sense of belonging.
