A following Norse Alert was sent at approximately 12 p.m. stating that a “suspicious package” was being investigated in the vicinity of University Drive. The alert said that no danger was anticipated outside the shut-down area.

The Northerner requested further information from NKU Police Chief John Gaffin, but he was unable to provide further details. No information was revealed as to why police from several nearby jurisdictions were deployed to the scene. Gaffin stated that information about the event would be distributed later.
