NKU students can receive discounts from 14 local businesses.

NKU has local Norse Rates business partners that will give discounts to university students when they show their All Card.

The businesses benefit from being a Norse Rate partner and giving our students discounts by getting more advertisement for their business. The businesses’ name goes on our website when they agree to become a partner.

“It’s nice and convenient to be able to have a discount, that way you don’t have to worry about scraping up money. I’d rather have the discount than not have one at all,” Tyler Mowery, public relations major, said.

All businesses that have been asked if interested in becoming a Norse Rates partner has never turned the partnership down according to the Norse Rates website.

Becoming a Norse Rates partner is more of a mutual agreement said Andrew Dorriere, secretary of student involvement for SGA.

“There is no official paperwork that is signed, usually we send them a thank you card with a window decal in it to put up for becoming a Norse Rates partner,” Dorriere said. “Most businesses will have a decal on their window so when students walk in they should be able to see it and know this is a place where students can receive discounts.”

Norse Rates business partners include Bar Louie at Newport on the Levee, Midway Café, Paint and Bake Ceramics, Skyline, Subway, and Twist and Grind.

Dorriere says that SGA is constantly looking for more businesses to become a Norse Rates partner and the more money it saves students the better.

“It was really nice to get a discount just for being a student at NKU,” Jacob Johnson, freshman computer information technology major, said .

Dorriere requests that students refer him to any businesses that may be interested in partnering with NKU for student discounts.
