NKU graduation numbers are climbing higher each year

Nancy side barThe number of students eligible to graduate at this spring’s commencement ceremony on May 10 is slightly larger than the previous fall semester and last spring, according to Krista Wiseman-Moore, Manager of Special Events and Stewardship.

“In the last few years it’s been going up a little bit, just a little bit more than the year prior,” Wiseman-Moore said. “May [commencement] tends to be a little bigger than December, even though the December ceremonies include August and December [graduates].’

This May, 1,670 NKU students are eligible to walk at graduation, compared to 1,643 eligible students from last May.

Wiseman-Moore said that individual programs have developed significantly within the College of Informatics.

“Informatics seems to be growing really fast. I think so many of those programs are new and emerging,” Wiseman-Moore said. “So many of them are cutting-edge professions.”

She also stated that the social work major within the College of Arts and Sciences has experienced tremendous growth after adding a master’s program.
