Walter Deller, graphic artist at The Northerner received an Honorable Mention from the Associated Collegiate Press for his work that ran in the Feb. 23 issue of The Northerner. The ACP is a national organization for college journalists.

Deller said that it was a “nice surprise,” and seemed excited about the news.

The cartoon depicted students being recorded by a security camera and posing the question, “Do you get the feeling that we’re being watched?”

The graphic ran in the issue as an editorial piece in response to the news that a student had been assaulted on campus.

During his time at The Northerner, Deller had six graphic pieces run in the print editions. The cartoons illustrated staff opinion on the subjects of campus safety, NKU employment, free speech, student multi-tasking and more.
