Northern Kentucky University has lost one of the founding fathers of the university. Former president A.D. Albright (1976-1983) passed away early this morning in Lexington, Ky., according to an e-mail sent out by president James Votruba. He was 96.
Albright came to NKU in 1976 and saw enrollment climb up to 10,000 during his tenure, while also seeing $40 million in construction projects give the Highland Heights campus a new image.
