The good, the bad, and the weird

The Good

About 500 people stood in the rain outside of Cincinnati City Hall Nov. 5 to protest the passing of California’s Proposition 8, which took away the right of marriage to same-sex couples, according cincinnati.com. Cities across the nation and in more than a dozen other countries joined in the protest.

The Bad

Fidelity, which holds a large office in Covington, Ky. will cut 1,700 jobs across the country early next year, adding to the original 1,300 cuts announced last week, according to cincinnati.com. Details on how many layoffs will occur locally have not yet been disclosed.

The Weird

Gilbert Genn, a Maryland lobbyist, was attacked by a deer outside his home Nov. 5, according to wtopnews.com. After being stabbed in the chest and groin, Genn wrestled the buck to the ground until it fled, and then to avoid missing a meeting, used a paper binder clip and cotton to tend the wound. Genn went to the hospital after the meeting.
