Keeping its winning streak alive, the Northern Kentucky University Volleyball team (18-3) swept its weekend games against visiting opponents Missouri S’T (4-15) and Quincy (8-12).
On Oct. 3, Missouri S’T came to town and faced the Norse. It received an upset when NKU beat it in three sets 25-17, 25-18 and 25-22.
NKU senior outside hitter Noelle Peterson and senior right side hitter Kelsey Wesaw each had 10 kills in that game.
Senior right side hitter Kristina Eisenmenger had nine with four blocks. Senior setter Natalie Forbes had 39 assists in this game and sophomore middle hitter Kim Nemcek had seven kills.
Oct. 4 was a different story for the Norse, who won the game in five sets, showing they were really in the game. 24-26, 28-30, 25-23, 25-17, and 15-5 were the set scores.
Once again Eisenmenger, Wesaw and Peterson led the game in kills. Eisenmenger had 18 kills, nine digs, and six blocks, while Wesaw had 17 kills and Peterson had 15 while also having two aces. Forbes was also in the action with a recorded 54 assists, 12 digs and three blocks.
In both games combined, sophomore libero and outside hitter Chelsea Clark ended up with 25 digs and also had four aces in the last game.
NKU is set to play at 8 p.m. at Rockhurst. and again at 8 p.m. Oct. 10 at Drury.
