Norse dominates Lindsey Wilson

The Northern Kentucky University Women’s Volleyball dominated the undefeated Lindsey Wilson College winning 3-0 Sept. 2 at Regents Hall.

The Norse came back in game one from a two point deficit, they looked shaky, but they quickly gained their composure.

“We come in every game and expect to compete,” head coach Carlos Chia said. “We didn’t do anything different to prepare for this game, we just practice, practice, practice.”

The Norse certainly competed tonight. They won three straight games, and Senior opposite hitter, Kristina Eisenmenger, had sixteen kills on the night. NKU swept the Blue Raiders 25-14 in game one, 25-13 in game two, and 25-9 in game three.

The Blue Raiders looked out of sorts. The only time they had a lead was in the opening minutes of game one.

“NKU’s offense was really spread out,” Blue Raiders head coach Chuck Amshoff said. “They did a good job holding our attackers. Our blocking was not what we had practiced.”

Amshoff didn’t seem too worried about losing this game.

“It’s early in the season,” he said. “I think we needed this game, it identified our strengths and our weaknesses.”

The Norse play the Thomas More Saints Sept. 3, at 7:30 p.m., at Regents Hall.
