The good Despite suffering from cancer, 13-year-old Zach Heringer organized a team of 30 people to raise money for cancer research in the Cincinnati Walks for Kids 5K walk, kypost.com reported Jan. 29. The group earned more than $2,800 for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

The bad More than 800 people are feared dead after violence escalated in Kenya over a disputed presidential election, ABC.com reported Jan. 27. Individuals are fighting over who won the Dec. 27 elections. The two candidates met Jan. 24 to try to compromise and end the violence, but so far they have not reached a common ground.

The weird Officers in Port St. Lucie, Fla., arrested a drunken college student who was driving around the police parking lot, wftv.com reported Jan. 25. He was apprehended after allegedly almost hitting an officer. Police said that the student said he was trying to turn in a paper, and thought he was at the Indian River Community College.
