The Good

Our heat wave should finally be coming to an end next week, reported Aug. 25. After record-setting temperatures the week of Aug. 20, the week of Aug. 27 should give us a break with high temperatures in the 80s and possibly the 70s by the end of the week, meteorologists said.

The Bad

A 2-year-old girl died after she was left inside her mother’s SUV all day, reported Aug. 24. Police were called after the child was found by a teacher at Glen Este Middle School, where the mother is an assistant principal.

The Weird

Erlanger police arrested a former Kenton County constable after he impersonated a police officer, reported Aug. 25. The ex-constable, Ron Ferrier, allegedly followed the man into a local Kroger store, accused the man of cutting him off while driving and then drove recklessly out of the parking lot, police say.
