The good

An 11-year-old Elsmere girl who had been missing for several hours, was found safe WCPO.com reported August 19. The girl, who is a special-needs child, was found by a neighbor who went looking for her after seeing news broadcasts regarding the child’s disappearance. Authorities believe she had simply wandered off.

The bad

A Walnut Hills man was arrested on charges he was feeding beer to a baby, Cinciinnati.com reported August 19. The man attacked the woman for turning him in, police said.

The weird

An infamous 1939 “stuttering experiment” has left the state of Iowa owing almost $1 million to the orphans involved in the study, MSNBC.com reported August 17. The study, also known as the “Monster Study,” involved researchers scaring children so they would stutter in order to prove stuttering is a learned behavior.
