Mrs. Loman, I am a photographer at The State Journal in Frankfort. I’m also the contest co-chair for the Kentucky News Photographer’s Association. I’m writing to invite you and your staff to this year’s event. It will be held Jan. 20-21 in Louisville. The first day is the photo contest and the judging is open. It is a great way to see work from photographers across the state and hear what the judges have to say about the pictures. The second day the judges will be giving seminars. Portfolio critiques are also available through out the weekend.

This is a great learning opportunity for you and the rest of the photo staff at The Northerner. I would encourage anyone on staff who has an interest in photography to come. It is also a great way to meet other photographers in the state and make some great contacts. There are some fees to enter the contest and attend the seminar. However, students get a reduced rate. And the open judging is free. So you can come that day to learn and socialize at no cost!

Please pass along this information to anyone you think my be interested. In years past NKU has not been represented in the KNPA and we would like to see that change. The KNPA web-site is for more information. Give me a call or send me an email if you have any questions.
