Face painting and balloon animals may seem like child’s play, but this and many other attractions will be part of the celebration of Homecoming week’s first event.

Norse Day will be held from noon until 4 p.m. Jan. 6, in the plaza of Newport on the Levee.

The event will feature performances from Northern Kentucky University’s dance team and music will be provided by a DJ.

NKU’s Office of Student Life will sponsor raffles of NKU merchandise. Jeff Cowens, social chair for homecoming executive board, said students “should expect a good time, discounts, and free stuff.

Anytime Student Life is involved with anything, there is always free stuff for students, and this is no different.”

Discounts will be offered for NKU students at Norse Day on the Levee. These include double game play up to $50 at Gameworks, buy two entrees and get one free at Jax Grill, 10 percent off total bill at Caf
