dj X’s Week In Review

Welcome back all you hip cats and groovy chicks. Here we go again. I have a lot of stuff to share with you; however, I want to give a shout out to all my people. “I love you all but you’re all incredibly mad!” With that said, here we go.

Review of the week: Justin Timberlake’s ‘Justified’

Or as I like to call it ‘JustinCRAP.’ Teenyboppers rejoice the pop prince is loose and on his own.

I give credit where it’s due. Timberlake has done some amazing things in the past four years. N’Sync are an excellent group of vocalists. I’m just not a fan of pop.

I feel that maybe I was a little harsh. This is an excellent album and JT has done well for himself.

With the backing of The Neptunes.

He will be a threat as he grows up and finally hits puberty. Billboard has ‘Justified’ in the top 20. Enjoy it while you can.

Gotta have it album:

TLC’s ‘3D’

The newest, and hopefully not the last, TLC’s album. 3D is exactly what the title says, a trip into a three dimensional realm of music. The beautiful blend of T-Boz and Chili’s soulful voices mixed with Left Eye’s smooth rhymes make this yet another great TLC album.

When news of Lisa’s death hit the music world everyone was stunned. No one thought that T-Boz and Chili would go on.

Here they prove that their love for music and Lisa rises above speculation and carries on.

Old school pick: Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Are You Experienced’

Beware the ‘Purple Haze.’ Get off the brown acid and listen up. Are you experienced? Well, you better be.

This is Jimi Hendrix, the guitar swinging, amp humping, psychedelic gypsy at his best.

‘Are You Experienced’ is one of the most hard hitting, rawest rock albums ever. Jimi is a god in the world of rock music. I can’t say enough about him or his music.

However, they only give me a short column to write with. In the end it’s simple, put on your favorite headband, light a guitar on fire and get experienced. I’m out.
