Student Government will start this Spring with nine new Senators and one new Judicial Council member, all elected during the Fall semester.
In the Senate, all six returning Senators kept their seats while nine new candidates made the final cut.
Newcomer Katie Clark, Junior, International Studies, secured the third highest vote count with 121 votes. She credits her involvement with campus organizations, especially Student Life where she serves as Student Organization Specialist, with helping her gather votes.
“I hope that people saw me as a good leader,” she said.
She said she wants to get more students involved in campus life and organizations.
In the race for the Judicial Council Yun Mi Kwon, Sophomore who has no previous SGA experience, beat SGA Senator Chris Frodge by six votes to secure one of the two seats which were up for grabs.
A constitutional amendment, which allows the President and Vice President to run on a slate ballot if they choose to do so, passed 106 to 88.
