The Northern Kentucky University women’s basketball team defeated Quincy University Thursday 60-53. Senior Michelle Cottrell scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the win and junior Kristin Polosky added 14 points for the Norse. NKU broke a two-game losing streak with the victory and improved to 9-2 overall, 6-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

The NKU men’s basketball team also beat Quincy Thursday by a score of 76-74. Junior Brenden Stowers made the winning basket on a put back shot with two seconds left of the game. Junior Bobby St.-Preux led the Norse with 19 points and senior Craig Sanders added 18 points. NKU is now 8-4 on the year and 4-2 in the GLVC.
