Spring into Service this weekend, organizations have chance to win $50
Scripps Howard Center for Civil Engagement is hosting the annual Spring into Service event this Saturday, giving students the opportunity to team up with faculty, staff and community members to work on necessary improvements in Highland Heights, Ky.
Volunteering opportunities include planting crops, home improvements and highway cleanup. Volunteers will receive free lunch and participate in games and raffles when they return back to NKU at noon.
New to the service day this year is a chance for student organizations to win $50 to a nonprofit of its choice. The campus organization that has the most members volunteering will earn the money. There will be a Black group for organizations with 40 members or less and a Gold group for organizations with 41 members or more.
Volunteers will be meeting on the first floor of the Student Union at 8:30 a.m. on April 13 and students will depart for their service assignments at 9:00 a.m.
