The 2026 annual “Juried Student Exhibition” is now open, featuring works from students in different areas, from painting to sculpture to graphic design. The collection, curated by two external jurors, allows students in the Art & Design program to showcase their art in a gallery setting, with the opportunity to sell their work and earn awards.
Held in the large gallery in SOTA, the exhibition’s closing reception is 5-7 p.m. on March 26. This includes an award ceremony where students can receive honors for their art, ranging from merit awards to purchase awards. Some artworks are bought by the university to be displayed on campus.
In the small gallery, a show titled “Untitled Moments” by Garrett Langebartels explores, in abstract forms, what it means to be intrinsically human, and who we are when we shed our identities. Langebartels is a multi-disciplinary artist from Indianapolis who, in addition to painting, makes music and furniture.
