Although the day took on a frigid and windy setting, that didn’t stop the second annual Norse Marketplace from being a success. Various booths lined the sidewalk in the Student Union Plaza on Tuesday.

The marketplace featured 55 student-run vendors selling both goods and services, presented by Norse Innovators and Women in Entrepreneurship organizations. Vendors displayed personal style and creativity in their unique booths.
“I love the community of it,” said Odds and Ends vendor Claudia Faye. “Getting to see groups of friends creating booths together and sharing their interests is really great.”
Faye’s booth mainly featured vintage home decor such as picture frames and various trinkets, along with some jewelry, clothes and books.
Guests could shop for an array of items, including thrifted clothes, handmade goods, jewelry and more. The event also included interactive booths and games like bean bag toss and spin the wheel. Students walking to class couldn’t help but be drawn to the enticing and interesting market.
Entrepreneurial student Marisa Ruth and some classmates held a spin-the-wheel game where students could win a prize by completing a challenge on the wheel.
“It’s fun to watch people come up to our booth and laugh while doing some of the silly challenges on our wheel. Our booth is nice because it’s something quick they can participate in on their walk to class,” said Ruth.
With music, food and shopping, hundreds of students showed up to support their peers despite the frigid day.
Sophomore Kayleigh Sizemore was especially in awe of the thrifted clothes vendors.
“The thrifted clothes booths were my favorite, I couldn’t believe all the cool clothes they had. I loved looking through it all and, of course, buying a lot,” she said.
