Women’s Soccer team takes down Wright State in First Round of Conference Finals

NKU women’s soccer team took down Wright State 3-1 in the Horizon League Quarterfinals Monday night. Freshman forward Lindsey Meyer scored the first goal of the night in the 23rd minute. Meyer was assisted by senior defender Hannah Fischer. Senior midfielder Shawna Zaken came back in the 41st with a goal assisted by senior forward Ally Perkins.

Wright State scored in the 72nd minute to bring the game within one, but NKU’s defensive effort prevailed and Zaken scored within the final minutes to put the Norse up 3-1. The Norse will go on to face UIC Thursday, Nov 7 at Milwaukee.
