This afternoon, Darryl Peal, Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer and Title IX Coordinator sent out an email to NKU students notifying them that the deadline for the mandatory online sexual assault training had been extended to Nov. 15.

The deadline to complete the training in order to register for spring classes without a hold was originally Oct. 16. Peal encourages students to complete the training as soon as possible and said the training should take no more than an hour.

The training is included in an email from an outside firm, Everfi, and because of this has been quarantined as spam for many students.

“Our university is unwavering in its commitment to building a campus community that respects the rights of everyone, free of sexual harassment and assault,” Peal said in the email. “Our goal with this training is to empower you to help create a respectful and healthy campus community while learning about your rights, responsibilities, and expectations.”

Peal advises if you are a survivor and find this process triggering, you can be connected to additional resources by contacting Kendra Massey, director of the Norse Violence Prevention Office, at 859-572-5865 or masseyk4@nku.edu.
