Senior forward Dantez Walton has been named Horizon League’s men’s basketball player of the Week for the third consecutive time this season. Walton has been averaging 25.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and three assists per game.
Walton is the first Horizon League men’s basketball player since Neglee Knight of Dayton(1989-90 season) to be named three-straight player of the week honors.
“The number one reason Dantez Walton is playing at the level he is [is conditioning],” Head Coach Darrin Horn said. “He didn’t magically become a guy that can make all the plays that he’s making. I mean, this is a guy that averages double figures. Now he’s been a starter on NCAA tournament teams, but I think he’s gotten in unbelievable shape. And so now he’s able to do that more confidently for longer stretches, and we’re asking him to do more.”
