Local volunteer opportunity
Volunteers are needed to help the Highland Heights City Council with various indoor and outdoor projects on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Interested students will meet at the Highland Heights City Building on Johns Hill Road. Take part in the last Talk on Tuesday to learn the basics of interviewing on April 8. The talk will be presented by Bethany Kilgore from 12:15-1:30 p.m. in University Center 11. Lunch will be provided. The last day to RSVP is April 2. e-mail Tiffany Mayse at email@example.com.
NKU Car Club hosts show
Northern Kentucky University car club, Modified Addiction, will host a car show on campus in parking lot E April 19. The event will begin at 11 a.m. and will include food, drinks, games and a live band. Those who want to enter their car in the show should be at the parking lot before 10:30 a.m. The cost to enter a car in the show is $5. NKU Regional History Day
The Northern Kentucky University history and geography department will host a history day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 5. Workshops, lectures and displays on subjects related to local, regional, national and world history will be held in the Business, Education and Psychology building. Thomas C. Mackey, professor of history at the University of Louisville, will give the opening speech, “That All Mankind Should Be Free: Abraham Lincoln and African Americans,” at 10 a.m. in BEP 200. Scholarship Day at Keeneland
Keeneland will be hosting College Scholarship Day for the seventh year in a row on April 4 at Keeneland. In partnership with the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association, they will be giving away $10,000 in college scholarships and 10 LG Voyager VX10000 cell phones. To qualify and for free admission, attendees must be full-time college students and present a valid college ID. The first 1,000 students to register will receive a free college day t-shirt.
