Application tips and free lunch
The Leadership Mentors will be hosting an application workshop at 12:15 p.m. Feb. 12 in the University Center Room 11. The meeting will give students tips on how to apply for awards and graduate school as well as advice on improving their portfolios.

All aboard the SGA Express
The Student Government Association is sponsoring a free NKU shuttle van to local stores. It departs from the Norse Circle and travels to stores, including: Kroger, Dollar Tree, Blockbuster Video, Walgreens, Kohls, Walmart and Meijer.
The shuttle runs between 4 and 8 p.m. each Sunday and Wednesday.
Chase grad wins “best alumnus” award
Rick Rothfuss, Chase class of 1977, will receive the University’s “Outstanding Alumnus of the Year Award,” Feb. 8 at Chase College of Law at the university’s annual alumni award banquet.
Rothfuss will be delivering a presentation to students titled “The Rising Foreclosure Dilemma” from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. Feb. 8 in Nunn Hall Room 426. Lunch will be provided.
NKU to host free public lecture
The NKU International Business Center, the U.S. Commercial Service and Northern Kentucky International Trade Association have partnered to sponsor a free public event named “The UAE: Gateway to European, Asian and African Markets,” from 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Otto M. Budig Theater.
The event will begin with a breakfast and networking session from 8 to 8:30 a.m. The main program begins promptly at 8:30 a.m.
NKU photographer honored
NKU staff photographer Joe Ruh was honored by the Kentucky Professional Photographers Association with five awards — Best of Show, Kodak Gallery Award, First Place Portrait, Kentucky Court of Honor and a Merit Award — at the KPPA’s annual conference Jan. 26.
Robert Kennedy Jr. to speak on campus
Robert Kennedy, Jr. will be speaking on campus in Greaves Lecture Hall on Feb. 27. His lecture is titled “Our Environmental Destiny.” Tickets are on sale in the Office of Student Life for $3 with an NKU ID. The price increases to $5 with an NKU ID for tickets at the door. Community members may purchase tickets for $10.
Global perspective lecture series
The Office of International Programs will hold the third lecture in its Global Perspective Lecture Series at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 6 in the Otto M. Budig Theater.
