New security measures address campus theft

Swipe-Card protects campus

Visitors to the new Natural Science Center may notice a small box on various doors throughout the facility. This box, a magnetic-stripe card reader, is part of the new swipe-card system on campus. Currently in place in limited use at the Natural Science Center, the swipe-card system allows the Department of Public Safety to prevent unauthorized access and to monitor access by persons inside the facility.

TKE Party

Scott Houp, a TKE chapter advisor, and Eric Surder, a third year pledge, sit back and have a soda at one of the many display tables at this years Safe Sex Party. Display tables were decorated in condoms and lubricant. "[We are] trying to promote safe sex in general whether it be abstinence, contraceptive use, or any other safe practice," said Andy Carr, the philanthropy chair for community awareness.

NKU stuns No. 1 Christian Brothers

The NKU women's soccer team remained unbeaten on Sunday with their biggest win of the season, 1-0 over Christian Brothers University. Christian Brothers was ranked No. 1 in the nation coming into the game. Junior forward Aisling Callaghan scored on a penalty kick at the 82:32 mark in the second half to give the Norse the victory.

Lady Norse edge out No. 15 Tusculum

The NKU women's soccer team improved its season record to 5-0 on Friday evening as they defeated No. 15, Tusculum College, 2-1 at Town and Country in Wilder, KY. Carey Hebbeler scored the game winning goal for the Norse early in the second half. The Norse offense controlled much of the first half by keeping the ball on the Pioneer side of the field.
