Darrin Horn seals the deal as NKU MBB coach

It’s official! The new men’s basketball coach Darrin Horn stepped foot into his new home of BB&T Arena Thursday afternoon. The press conference opened with remarks from President Ashish Vaidya and NKU Athletic Director Ken Bothof—welcoming Horn and his family to the NKU community.

On a clear blue Sunday, news broke that NKU men’s basketball coach John Brannen was leaving for the Cincinnati Bearcats. The veil in BB&T Arena was torn, and the mountains fell on themselves at the word that the leader of NKU’s Division I crusade was hopping across the river. (Editor’s Note: Ok, not really, but it did kind of feel that way.)

Cardinals defeat NKU Baseball late in the game

The NKU baseball team took on number 12 Louisville Tuesday night at Jim Patterson Stadium with a final score of 11-2.  This brings the Norse season down 8-23 while the Cardinal’s season improves 25-8.

Norse baseball split double-header against Golden Grizzlies

NKU’s baseball team played against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in a double-header Sunday at Bill Aker Baseball Complex. The Norse won the first game with a score of 3-2, but lost game two 0-4. The Norse are now 5-20 on the season and 4-5 in the Horizon League conference. The Grizzlies also stand 4-5 in the conference and have a regular season record of 4-19.

The NKU men’s baseball team lost to the Butler Bulldogs on Tuesday afternoon with a final score of 2-9. This brings the Norse’s overall record down to 4-17 while the Bulldogs record improves to 14-9.

Why are we even asking this question?  With being the second winningest coach in NKU history and taking two trips to the NCAA tournament as well as an NIT debut in the first three years of Division I eligibility, these types of talks come about.

Norse softball falls to IUPUI Jaguars

The NKU softball team took on the IUPUI Jaguars on Saturday for a double-header at Frank Ignatius Grein softball field. In the first game, the Norse lost to the Jaguars 13-5 and lost 1-0 in the second. This brought the Norse down to 7-18 overall and 0-3 in the Horizon League.

March Madness: NKU’s season ends against Texas Tech

NKU men’s basketball historic season ended against the Texas Tech Red Raiders Friday at the BOK Center in Tulsa. The Norse end the season Horizon League regular season co-champs as well as Horizon League Champions. The Norse ended the season with a 28-9.

NKU men's basketball team will face third seeded Texas Tech in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday, March 22. NKU Athletics held a Selection Sunday announcement party for NKU students, alumni, and fans of the community.

NKU men’s basketball team are the 2019 Horizon League Men’s Basketball Champions after a 77-66 win over Wright State Raiders.NKU’s post season continues with a record of 26-8 and end the conference with a record of 14-5. The Raiders season ended with an overall record of 21-13 and 13-6 in the conference.
