NKU soccer player Kobie Qualah had five shots Saturday in a goalless draw against Valparaiso.

The men’s soccer team remained unbeaten in Horizon League play Wednesday with a 1-0 win over Belmont at NKU Soccer Stadium.

NKU (5-3-1 overall, 2-0-1 in Horizon League) got the only goal it needed in the 19th minute. Kobie Qualah headed in the Johannes Jansen ball to give NKU a 1-0 lead.

Toby Frohlich, in his first start of the season, made four saves to record his first shutout of the year. It was the Norse’s fifth shutout of the season.

Belmont (1-8-1, 0-2-0) outshot NKU 10-7, including 4-3 in shots on goal. However, they limited Belmont to just three corner kick opportunities.

Qualah led the Norse in shots with three. Four other NKU players recorded at least one shot.

NKU returns to action 7 p.m. Saturday as they host Oakland. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
