In a press release from NKU on Jan. 28, Lot Y and parts of Lots A, G, K and L will be closing Feb. 1. The closure is due to the construction of the North Connector Road.

A state road project will result in increased traffic and parking times in the coming weeks, according to an NKU press release.

All of Lot Y and parts of Lots A, G, K and L will be affected by the North Connector Road project beginning next week. Students, faculty and staff who typically park in those lots are advised to park in the Welcome Center Garage or Lots M, P and O.

In an effort to improve safety and alleviate traffic congestion on and near campus, the North Connector Road, a 1.7 mile, three-lane road will be constructed on the west side of campus, parallel to Kenton Drive. It will connect Johns Hill Road and Three Mile Road.

The state-led 10.6 million dollar project, which has been long-anticipated by the Northern Kentucky community, will be facilitated by Bray Construction Services, based in Alexandria.

“My goal is to going to try to keep [students] as informed as I can about how [the construction will] affect anything going on around campus,”Andy Meeks, director of Business and Auxiliary Services said.
